Pool Table

2013 Year in Review

It was another awesome year at our Lake House as we've enjoyed getting to know many of our guests. We had over 30 groups reserve with us through VRBO in 2013 from all over the US! We continue to make additions to the property including a new Dining Table, a Pool Table, a Pontoon, Wi-Fi, a Flatscreen for basement and a much requested Keurig for our coffee lovers. This spring we will also be adding a new dock. Chris worked on projects including a new HVAC system, an annual fresh coat of interior paint and finishing the garage. We also purchased a 2nd vacation rental property about an hour southwest of us too on Lake Jefferson and as if we were not busy enough, we managed to fit in the birth of our 2nd daughter, Sophie in May. It was another awesome year and we feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share our love of the lake with others. I will update the blog with some new pictures soon! Kimi

2012 in Review

It was a busy year last year and the house was booked with vacation renters at least half of the time which afforded us the opportunity to enjoy the property ourselves and invite friends and family to the lake over Memorial weekend. We were blessed with perfect weather! Over the last several months I added new pots and pans, baking dishes, rugs, lawn furniture, an ipod speaker dock, and curtains for the Master Bed Room while Chris added another flat screen t.v. with Sateillite and brought out our large stainless steel gas grill. He's been looking for a ping pong table or something along that line for the basement along with a new pontoon that could be rented in addition for our guests. I welcome guest feedback and as a result, started labeling the light switches so it was less confusing for guests. The original owner before us built the home and did his own electrical work ;) This Christmas we had our tree set up in the basement and lit garland on the main stair case. I had extra green and created a beautiful urn arrangement for the front door too so it was ready for our holiday guests. I picked up some additional holiday decor after Christmas and am already looking forward to decorating the house next year! The house continues to be a labor of love for us and we are gearing up for spending time on the lake ice fishing and skating now that we are less busy.

Christmas 2011 Guest Comments

" We found this Prior Lake home to be ideal for our large family Christmas gathering. It was very spacious for our family of 6 adults and 5 children ( ages 1 to 5 ) so we never felt crowded! The two levels allowed us to use the lower level for children's games without worrying about disturbing meal preparation or conversations on the upper level. The view is fantastic!! Everyone watched the ice fishing, skating, and motorized vehicles on the lake. Most everyone took the opportunity to go for a walk on the ice which was really enjoyed by the little ones! There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a very enjoyable vacation! The grocery store was very convenient - we made many trips for our last minute decisions about what to prepare in this great kitchen! We highly recommend this home for a large gathering!" Update

July was a long month of restoring the lake house after our 18 month tennant moved out. We added a headboard and feather bed to the master bedroom, changed out the dining table with a bigger one, added end tables to each bedroom, and put bunk beds in the basement. It is always a work in progress! I added some new photos to the blog with the changes :)
